Christmas Eve!

Finally, Christmas Eve is here.  Kasey and Karley made it down yesterday and today we had a lot of activities planned for them!  Christmas at Mike's mother's place was first on the list...  So we jumped in the car and headed to Spirit Lake for lunch.
Kasey, Jeri, and Karley..  I remember when I was the tallest.  :-)
Mike's family decided to have a sports theme gift exchange this year.  The kind of exchange you can steal presents from other people.  Kasey and Karley ended up walking away from the exchange each with a $25 Scheels gift card.  Their strategy worked like a charm.  Unfortunately no one liked my Iowa State gifts..  Guess I was in a room full of Hawk fans...  Who knew??  :-)
We got back home around 5:00 p.m.  The girls decided yesterday that we needed to do a little bit of baking Christmas Eve night.  Kasey took the cookies and Karley made some things called Oreo Balls.  They hesitated to let me burn anything.  I begged to help.
Peppermint Sugar Cookies!!
Oreo Balls!

Melting the chocolate for the Oreo Balls..  Look!  I'm helping!!
After we were finished cooking, Kasey decided she wanted to play with my hair so I got to sit and relax for awhile AND get my hair braided all at the same time!  :-)  Always fun to play Hair Salon!  My hair styles have been better in recent years than what they were back with the girls were 5 or 6.  Ha ha!
The hair styling didn't last long though...  We decided we needed an exciting game of Scrabble!  So out came the board and the dictionary!
Bring it on children!!
During the scrabble game, Karley decided her Oreo Balls were ready to be taste tested.  Kasey thought the Oreo Balls were acceptable!  :-)
Wow!  This Oreo Ball tastes like Heaven!!
Soon, The Christmas Story was on so all activity stopped.  Kasey calculated we have probably seen The Christmas Story approximately 32 times over her lifetime.  It's a classic.  If you haven't seen it, you need to take the time...  If you ever had a baby brother who wanted a bee-bee gun, this movie will be priceless to you.
Ralphie!!
It was a fantastic Christmas Eve like always when the girls are here.  Tomorrow is Christmas Day!  Karley is already trying to work me to open some presents a little early.  I almost succumbed to her mind control but Kasey saved me.  Karley then did her impersonation of me...  Looks pretty true to form!
Mike says Karley got this face from me...  :-)
Tomorrow, more Christmas fun.  Kelsey and Brent will be home and Mike's daughter's family will be over later in the afternoon.  I think they are going to bring their puppy Lola that they got from us last Spring.  A Christmas playmate for Oscar!!  I hope you were good so Santa brings you something nice!  Ho, Ho, Ho!  :-)
