Ava's first show

Ava did well on her first day.  She stood fantastic but was a little soft on her left side....  so we continue to struggle with the puppy growing pains.  But she still did well enough to get reserve bitch.  Here are some pics from the show...  We were done at about 9:30 in the morning...   I was so happy to be back showing.  It had been awhile since I had broken out the Ruth Buzzy clothes so it felt good to be back in the ring!

It was a great first day for Ava.  She had fun which is the important part about being in the ring for the first time...
So, with our first day of showing being a success, we headed back to the hotel...  Kinda had a lot of time to kill...  We were staying very near Canterbury Downs and everyone was talking about the Belmont, so we did watch the horse race..  That was kinda fun...  Ava took a nap...  :-)

 Actually we all eventually took a nap Saturday morning.  We were all a bit tuckered.  :-)

We did run out and get Ava her very first victory burger too!  She doesn't get much for table scraps so she took little nibbles.  But she thought it was good stuff man! 
Eventually we got a little stir crazy in the hotel and wanted to get outside.  It was a beautiful day and there was a lot of green space around our hotel so we took the chairs out and sat in the shade of a tree, enjoying the wonderful breeze all afternoon.  It was awesome to be outside and Ava really enjoyed herself!

After our wonderfully relaxing afternoon sitting under a shade tree, Mike and I ended up in a bar for dinner...  Strange thing.  I'm not much of a bar person and there certainly were some interesting characters to observe...  Since we were staying at the Canterbury Downs hotel and the Belmont had just occurred, there was a lot of activity and traffic.....  and people to watch...  Ultimately I decided this wasn't the place for me...  I'm a little to anti-social to hang in a bar so we retired for the evening....  Gotta get up early for Ava's second show tomorrow!!
