Karley's AAA

Karley was recently recognized at the Minnesota AAA Awards.  AAA Awards are for students who excel at Athletics, Academics, and the Arts.  Karley was one of 8 girls nominated and then selected.  Karley works so hard with all of her sports, and school work, she does deserve some recognition for her dedication...
The day started with a trip to the big cities, Minneapolis, MN!!  And then a banquet to honor these kids. It was a very nice luncheon.

Karley surrounded by boys...  like normal... :-)
After the banquet, we went to the Minnesota High School Boys State Basketball tournament.  We got to watch a good game and then at half time, Karley got to go down on the floor and be on television to receive her award.
Watching the boys game

Halftime on the floor

Karley on the Jumbo Tron!!  Whoop!!
Karley was so beautiful!  And so deserving of some recognition.  It was good to see her so happy.  :-)  Love ya Karl!  I'm so proud of you! Now Karley is busy with finishing up her senior year and pole vaulting.  I'm not sure when she sleeps.

Is this March?

Is this March or did I get kidnapped by aliens for a month or so??  Since I'm not keen on alien abduction I'm pretty much just hoping it was an abnormally warm weekend in March..  :-)  It was a fantastic weekend.  Everybody got out, got baths, ran around in the sun, and enjoyed the warmth.  (Too bad the wind was blowing so hard but eh...  I guess it's Iowa right?)  I even broke the flip flops out this weekend!  It doesn't get any better than that!!  :-)
I spent a lot of time up front just playing..
Molly just chillin' like normal!

Who is taller?  And who weighs 60 lbs more??

Rasmus, Mom, and Molly

Dang it Oscar!

Ready...  Ready...

Chaos!

Oscar, Rasmus, Ava

We had a lot of fun just messing around.  Then I figured I better be productive and do a little training with Oscar and Ava...  Oscar's a pro...  What can I say....
Nice pants huh??

And I'm even happy to say Ava is starting to get the hang of it!  She surprised me today and did a very nice job stacking up.
Oscar is helping!!

80 lbs of adorable!  :-)
Rasmus even had to show me he didn't forget one of his tricks.  Rasmus can shake, lie down, and roll over.  Shaking is his meal ticket around here....  (it's pretty much his only meal ticket!)  ha ha!....
Mom, will you hold my paw?  Of course I will Rasmus!

Best part of the weekend though was when a good friend of mine dropped off a present!  My friend is an expert at steak production from beginning to end.  :-)  The steaks were delicious!!  Dad, you better hurry back or there won't be anything left!!  Just sayin!  Melts in your mouth like butter!  :-)
Fresh off the assembly line!
Here's back from a few weeks!  Mike's 50th birthday happened while I was out of town but I'm pretty sure he didn't miss me.  I finally got this picture from Mike...  Apparently he partied hard with our favorite neighbors Sandeanne and Gail.  He came home to this...
So while I was on the road, Mike was at the Vetter house partying hard on his 50th birthday.  Sandeanne, you are the party planner (and decorator) I could never be!!
And that pretty much brings this weekend to a conclusion.  Thanks for checking out the pics.  Have a painless week.  Hopefully we get a little rain on Monday.  And I'll see ya when I see ya!  :-)

Easter Egg Hunt!

Seems like spring has arrived.  The snow is almost all gone from the back yard so you know what that means???  Yep!  Time to go out and clean up all the Easter eggs!  Ha ha!!  Yep, we were on an Easter egg hunt and boy did we get a wheel barrow full!  :-D  Apparently someone thought it was entertaining to take pictures of me from the house while I was working... hmmm.  Like my boots???
Darn Easter Bunny!!
Of course, Rasmus being the helper that he is found some eggs for me to save me time.  Thanks Rasmus!
Mother!! Found one!  It smells weird!
But is wasn't all work this weekend.  Ava got to go on her first pilgrimage to PetSmart, Oscar's favorite place!  Since Oscar was dirt head to toe, he didn't get to go...  We headed to Sioux City.  Ave and I shared an Egg McMuffin on the way.  I'm pretty sure I got the short end of the stick on that one...
Mother, is there any more of that ham??  It was pretty good!
We got to PetSmart pretty early.  Ava has graduated to a big girl bed.  She's been spending her nights pushing her pen around the garage so time for Ava to move into her kennel at night.  :-)  Children!!  We had fun walking around the store socializing with everyone but we didn't stay long.  Soon, we were back on the road headed home again.  Ava thought the trip was pretty exhausting!
Look at all the stuff!!

Look at that dog over there!!

Look at those dogs over there!  I don't want to go home!!

Whew!  That was exhausting!!
We also got to go to Mike's grandson's birthday.  Drake is a big three years old now!

And probably the most exciting thing of the whole weekend!  Molly went in for an ultrasound and it looks like after a year of waiting, Molly is going to have 2 to 3 puppies!  I'm so excited!!  Puppies again!  :-)

So ends another weekend.  Now I'll have to spend the week struggling to adjust to "Spring Ahead"...  I really hate daylight savings time!  Let's just leave it be!  Anyway, enough of my complaining.  Have a great week and I'll see ya when I see ya!!

Sunday with my little Miss Piggy!!

Okay, it's Saturday morning.  It's dreary and snowy outside..  I'm sitting down for a cup of that life blood known as caffeine and this is what sets down on my lap..
Mother!  Seriously!  Get with the program!
"Mother..  Seriously you've been gone for a week..  I've been horribly neglected.  I expect my scrambled eggs within the next 15 minutes..."  Oscar was just beside himself that he had to wait to have his breakfast.  He was even busy checking out the stove to see if I was cooking yet..
What!  No scrambled eggs!!
I spent a lot of time with little Ava today.  Little Ava is now 70 lbs at 16 weeks old.  Ava missed me while I was gone!  She gets all excited and makes little piggy snorting noises when she's happy and when you pet her.  That's why I call her my little piggy...  that and the fact that she's up to 70 lbs already.  She loves her food!
We took advantage of the Sunday inside and did some training with Ava.  I have a heck of a time getting her to stack up in back.  She'll stack up in front okay but she just will not keep her feet set in back.  It will come..  she's doing fantastic walking on the leash so she picked that up super quick!  Which is good!  It's not fun being drug by a mastiff!  ha ha!
wrestling!

wrestling some more!!

finally!!
She has beautiful color..  Such a light fawn and a dark dark adorable face.  Can't wait to hit the first show with her, probably some time in late May or early June after Oscar has gone to Ohio.
So much for Sunday.  The work week starts again tomorrow.  I'm going to have a busy week.  I'm taking Ava and Oscar to the vet to update shots so we can start making some nursing home visits.  Then I need to take Molly in for an ultrasound to see if we are going to have some puppies in April.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!!  Talk to ya next week or I'll see ya when I see ya!  :-)

Sweet Freedom!

There's just something about your first apartment.  The freedom of it all!  My oldest daughter Kelsey is now trying to get life all figured out.  We moved her into her first apartment last week.  She was so excited I was very happy for her...  She is not on the ground floor so we had to drag everything up multiple flights of stairs.  The biggest difficulty was when we all started laughing and almost slid back down the stairs with one of the sofas.  Boy were my calves killing me the next day!!  Ouch!
Kelsey's new palace!
It was fun getting her all situated.  We had a lot of fun with her.
Kelsey took this picture of the two of us...
And here's our end result.  I think she's has a very cute little apartment and she'll love every minute!
I tried to get her to skip the Simon and Garfunkle poster...  yuck!

Enjoy Kelsey!  I'm so proud of you!!  You are my favorite daughter (don't tell the other two  :-)  ha ha
