Girls afternoon!

Me and my baby girl!  Beautiful fall day outside.  I got a lot of my fall flowers cleaned up and Ava spent some fun time playing in the yard...  Mike, she left you a special present on your manicured grass...  I left it there for you.  :-)

Who woulda known...

Note to self...  Goats do not like lead ropes and do not like being led around.  Go figure???
Farrah chewed me out pretty hard for this injustice!!

31 Days of Halloween!!

Yes!  Best time of the year!  Just remember, if the zombie apocalypse happens this year... I've got my new .22 all sited up and ready to go!  Whoop!!

Weird things happen in Wisconsin...

Okay, so we are staking out where the dog kennel is going to go and this creature shows up...  And won't leave!!!!
Random!!!   Apparently Mike has been out trying to get it to come visit again but no luck!!

The Johnson Ranch relocates

The time continues to get closer when the Johnson Ranch will be moving to a new location in Wisconsin.  With the relocation comes many many changes that have been pretty tough...  Lucy and Polly have new homes.  Molly has a new home...  Rasmus will have a new home soon...  It's all pretty sad but we can't dwell.  We have to continue to move forward and love every day!  You never know, it could be your last so away with the stress!!!  Love the beautiful fall and everything it offers!
I thought you might like to see the new ranch.  I have been thinking about a new catchy kennel name that would fit at the new place....  "Cheesehead Mastiffs"....  "Cheesehead Ranch"  "Dead End Ranch"  (that's probably my favorite...)  so I think probably there will be a new blog soon.  I hope you will come with me and continue to be my faithful reader...
So here's the new ranch...  Mike is working on building a dog kennel...  Mid November I heard....  He's also busy building the goat pen...  Absolutely Vital!!!

It will be different.  I'll sure miss my ranch.  A lot of work went into our home so it's tough to leave.  And it's tough looking out into my pasture and seeing no one standing there.  :-(  Sigh...  But love every day.  The new ranch is beautiful...  someday it will be a ranch..  Mark my words, I will have another pony, even if it's a mini...  why?  I can't survive long without the smell of an equine...  And I'll have my little ladies (the goats)...  And most likely a new puppy in December...  Life is a changing...  It never stays the same...  Love every day...  :-)

The last rose...

Here it is...  The last rose of the season.  It always makes me sad...  :-(

Live every day!

As we go into my favorite time of year, I just want to throw it out there to you how precious life is.  Love every day...  You never know, it just may be your last...  So live every day and enjoy every day as if you might not have a tomorrow!  Do those things you have always wanted to do...  Tell everyone you love them...  Brush your horse...  pet your dog....  hug your kids and your parents... Love every day!  Make someone feel special...  Feel special yourself....

The Gulick girls class up my Ladies!!

Thank you Hannah, Maddy, Catherine, and Sarah!  Just look at the ladies!  They are beautiful!!!
Remy in the stylish animal print!

Farrah with the colorful purple and blue!

Peggy with the fiery red to match her personality!!

Celebrating our new fashion sense with some grain!  Woo Hoo!!

Lucy's new home

The day finally came for Lucy to go home to her new family the Gulick's!  I've been so impressed with the Gulick family.  I knew once I met them that they were who Lucy was meant to be with.  Such wonderful girls and wonderful parents!
I must admit, my feelings about Lucy going to the Gulick family are a touch selfish.  I remember when my parents bought me my first horse...  She was a foundation appaloosa named Lady.  She was an awesome horse...  The best memories of my childhood were with that horse...  I'm so thankful my parents allowed me all of those memories...  In a way, I feel like I'm giving the Gulick family wonderful memories that will stay with them for a lifetime too.  It means a lot to me to get those girls started down the path that I love so much myself.  And I feel good about Lucy going to this family.  It is a relief for me knowing she will be so well taken care of.
My old Polly is adjusting with Lucy gone.  I'm determined Polly is going to enjoy her last fall.  Polly is completely blind in one eye, and continues to struggle with arthritis.  But as of tonight, she's doing okay.  She's going to eat like a queen this fall and she's going to get brushed every single night...  :-)  She's my old girl...  My last horse...  Somehow it's fitting that's my last horse is a tough as nails old appaloosa mare...  Ending at the beginning....

Odd things that happen at a garage sale....

Now, I'm not a real good garage sale person.  We did just put on a garage sale and I noted that peculiar things seemed to happen....
de-de-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding....
Mike picked up a banjo and yes...  Began playing dueling banjo's all by himself...  weird...
Then mother says "Let's all make this face!"  Let's see if our faces will freeze this way...  Yep, it was a long day!  I think garage sales mess with your mind just a bit!  Ha ha!

Sandeanne, thank you for coming to my garage sale to joke around with us.  It was great to see you there...  I hope you can still read my blog from where you are.  You always said you enjoyed the blog and it made you laugh... We will miss you.

Faithful Blog Readers! I am so sorry!

To my faithful blog readers, I have to apologize for my lack of attention this summer.  It's been quite chaotic lately and as some of you know, the Johnson Ranch is relocating to Wisconsin.  But never fear faithful blog readers!  We will get the blog back up to full speed when things calm down.  So mother, chill!!  I might be a little slow but I'll get a post up once in awhile.  :-)  So here's some real excitement for ya!

In the meantime, a special thanks to Mark, Becky, Trisha, and Trent at the Todd Ranch!  We had an awesome labor day weekend training for the zombie apocalypse!  We wiped out those nasty zombies!  Look children!  Mother is holding a gun! Run!!
This is me confirming a zombie kill!  Yep, I got him in the brain...  Ha ha!  And Trisha, thanks for all the zombie survival tips!  I thought I was the only one in the world who considered what I would do in the zombie apocalypse....  Now I know...  We are headed towards Washta!  :-)

Ouchie!!

I love you Mom!
Poor Rasmus....  He had stitches that were driving him crazy.  But I took them out for him.  Look at how much he loves me!  :-D  Is that a smile or what...  Now it's not so Ouchie!!
What evs....

Molly says "He's just a drama queen!  Whatever....  That baby gets all the attention....  :-)

New Wheels Kasey!

Hey Kasey, check out your new wheels...  Too bad you gotta come visit us to get it!  Johnson's detailing service worked hard on all the cleaning...  I didn't...  But Johnson's detailing did.  :-D
Johnson's detailing hard at it!

Look!  I'm a car model!  Okay, so maybe it's not one of my talents.

Ava is helping!!
Yay!  Can't wait to see you Kasey!  Bring Karley home too!  I miss her face something fierce!

Kelsey and Kasey

Kelsey and Kasey got to spend a nice few days together.  It's too bad Karley couldn't be there.  Here's a picture of the two of them.  So beautiful!  :-)

The post of the year!!

Here it is!  The post of the year!  The moment you've all been waiting for!  Gma Helen's tattoo!!!!  Yes, believe it or not, Gma Helen finally got her tattoo!  We trucked up to Boji Tattoo on Saturday and yep, she did it!  I'm so proud!!  :-)  Of course we had to squeeze in among all the tongue, lip, and nose piercings...  It was certainly interesting to sit and watch!
Here's Mom's design before we got started.  We looked around for quite awhile and went back and forth on a few designs but then Mom finally settled on a really pretty flower tattoo.
I could tell Gma Helen was a little nervous when she was about to get started but she gave me the thumbs up!  She was ready to get started!!
She was apprehensive but as soon as Kaylarr got started, Mom looked at me and said...   "That's not so bad!"  I said "That's right!!"  So the rest was a piece of cake...
And here it is!  Gma Helen!  She's so hard core it's cool!  And then she told me on the drive home, she just bought her hand gun too!  Wow!  I want to be just like Gma Helen someday.

Bird dog!!

Words can't describe....  ha ha!!

What?? Now what is he doing?

What's he doing??  It can't be...
Polly and Thor are speechless..  What the heck??

Lucy says that's just madness...

Charlie says insanity!!  pure insanity!!  What is he thinking!!!

Mike decided he was going to sell a load of his small square alfalfa....  Pure insanity......

Hartley Hillbillies.....

See what Mike made!  He's so proud!.....

Don't forget to water the dog.....

The dog was looking a little puny....  So I watered her while I was watering my flowers....
gulp!

gulp!

blaaa.....  I'm water logged!!

Finally Rain!!!

Ava loves to play in the rain.  If she isn't trying to catch it in her mouth, she's out running through it like a crazy girl!
It had been so long since we had a nice rain we were all excited.  Good thing we all weren't running around in the rain like Ava.  Don't want the neighbors to think we are weird or anything.  Or weirder than we already are. Ha ha!!

Kasey's weekend

We were fortunate enough to have Kasey come home for the weekend.  On the agenda of course was watching the new Batman movie Dark Knight rising!  But as with any visit, there are lots of Johnson Ranch activities besides the movie that keeps us busy!!
One of these was enjoying our first batch of sweetcorn for the summer!  Yes!  I love sweetcorn!  I put Kasey to work.  :-)
Is this how you husk corn??
We have also been babysitting for the last couple of weeks so Kasey got to know the babysittee a little better.  :-)
Kasey and bear
Mike was busy busy busy fixing a post I'm pretty sure Charlie broke off.  Charlie likes to rub his rear on stuff so I'm guessing, he scratched on this post til it broke.  :-)
I think it is crooked!  Better dig it up!
Mike was really sweating!  It was super hot on Sunday!  So he was looking a little rough when he got done...
?????  What the??
Kasey spent a little quality time with the ladies.  They liked Kasey....  They could tell she's an animal lover!
And finally I had to do some shampooing like normal!  Kasey ran the fire hose!  :-)

It was a fun weekend with my middle child.  We even discovered an endless bank of bad Chuck Norris jokes!  Can you say heaven for Jeri!  :-D  Unfortunately now, everyone has to suffer the jokes at my expense.  ha ha!!  Too bad!!  ha ha!
Sorry it's taken awhile for a post.  It's been a little wild the last couple of weeks.  See ya next weekend or see ya when I see ya!  Stay cool!

One last parting thought....  Chuck Norris's mother called him Charles once......  once.  :-D
