The Johnson Ranch and Rasmussen Mastiffs

Welcome to our Ranch! Nothing much to do around here but feed animals and scoop stuff if you know what I mean!

Labor Day Weekend!

It was a fun holiday weekend of visiting.  On Saturday we were lucky enough to entertain some old friends, Mark and Becky, that I hadn't seen for way too long.  Mike worked hard outside while I worked inside trying to clean the dog drool off the kitchen floor...  :-)  Seriously Mike tore out our old small round pen and cut up the tree that had fallen in the grove a couple of months ago.  He also mowed his lawn again for the 2nd time in about 4 days...but it looks fabulous!  Here's Mike after his flurry of his morning and early afternoon activities...
zzzzzzzzz......
Mark and Becky, our visitors, got to the Ranch at about 6:00 p.m.  We had a fun evening but unfortunately for some reason I had a brain cramp and didn't get any pictures taken...  So you'll just have to use your imagination.  :-)  We grilled hamburgers and ate some beans that I had (of course) burned.  The evening went by way too fast and I was bummed when it was over.
Sunday we hopped in the car (including Oscar) and headed for Quimby to see Mom and Dad.  Since Oscar hadn't been out for awhile I needed to get him out and about...  Bad thing is, Oscar doesn't fit in the back seat of the car so well anymore...
Please can I have the window down?
Oscar is basically like having a 2 year old child along.  He's good for awhile then he gets restless.  As I'm sitting in my seat, I can feel breathing on the back of my head...   I turned around and saw this....
Are we there yet?  Where's McDonalds?
By the time we got to Quimby, my left ear was drooly and my hair was a little damp.   :-)  We had lunch on Mom and Dad's deck.  It was beautiful outside!  Cool and 70ish...  awesome!
At first Oscar was grounded from the deck because he was a little to excited to be there...  130 lbs of over excited isn't such a good thing...
Pleeeeease can I come up?  I promise I won't eat that small fluffy thing.
Eventually Oscar whined enough we did let him up on the deck but I made him work a little bit first so here we are practicing...  I know, you don't have to say it...  I'm a slave driver.  :-)  But it's good to practice in unfamiliar places...

Of course he did so well, I gave him an atta buddy and let him loose...
So we all pretty much just hung out in the sun and the crisp weather and enjoyed the blue sky.  It was heavenly!  I love this time of year so much!

Mom
My spoiled child.  :-)
Where's my cheese cake??

Tomorrow I will most likely be working as I'm still trying to get caught back up from being on the road for a couple of weeks...  Oscar will get a pedicure tomorrow and I'm thinking Dora's going to get a haircut too.  We have to start getting ready for our dog show next weekend in Des Moines.  Wish us luck!  Time to get out the magic dog showing shoes!  :-)
Catch ya later!
