You bought a what???

Not a what...  a Watussi!  Yep, that's right.  We now have some strange exotic African longhorn.  For what??  I don't know.  To look at I guess.  Friday night Mike got a wild idea that Saturday was the day.  He's been trying for almost a year to get a Watussi and the time had come.  So my normal relaxing Saturday was shot out the window as we headed off on our quest.  Here is what a full grown Watussi looks like.  Yep, I'm wondering what the heck we are thinking too...
It took a good hour to get our little Watussi loaded in the trailer.  Mike wanted a bull calf.  There were only two to choose from.  He ended up going with the red guy.  Well, we finally got back on the road again.  Oscar came along...  It was a long day for poor Oscar but there was a high point!  We shared a mushroom and swiss from Hardees!  That made it worth the ride.
Are we there yet??

So here's what our little fellow looks like.  This is Thor.  Yep, I named him Thor.  Hammer of the Gods...  Pretty much because he was royally ticked off.  We put him in a stall and tried to get him to calm down but didn't work.  Thor was mad!!
Thor is not in the best of shape.  He's pretty much just been running wild.  We snubbed him up and wormed him which was pretty exciting too...  So, we decided to get him a buddy to see if that helped...
Charlie and Thor chillin'
And did it ever help!  Thor calmed right down with Charlie hanging out with him...  He was a lot happier just to have a friend.  I guess Thor hasn't been by himself too much....  But that doesn't mean Charlie enjoyed his quality time with Thor...
Get me out of here!!
So, you might guess with my Saturday not my normal Saturday, today I was way behind!  Lots of laundry to do but such a nice day!  Hard to chose what to do next.  I would love to go riding but it wasn't in the cards this weekend.  I got in some work in the yard.  So excited to see my first rose of the summer!
Oscar wanted to get in the pool!  In fact, he sat in the empty pool until I went and got the hose and filled it up for him.  I'm pretty sure Oscar would enjoy being a labrador....  he loves the water!
So we spent a lot of the day in and out of the house.  Mike messed with his bull calf, I did laundry and entertained the four legged children.  Max went to the trainer today too!  That's exciting!  Our last foal headed to the trainer...  I think a good 60 days will be in the works for him.  He's pretty green.  Here's Max's first trip off the place.
Mike thinks he's going to ride Max and I'm going to inherit Rev from him...  I'm not so sure.  I guess we will have to see how Rev and I hit it off.  I'm getting too old to ride Lucy.  My knees can't take it anymore and Rev is pretty smooth..  We will see.
One other cool thing that happened to this weekend.  This deer came up to our back fence.  It was a young buck...  He came by, checked the place out, then took off again.  But it was cool to see.
And that was my wild and crazy weekend.  I gotta run!  It's late and I still have a lot of laundry I have to do..  Plus everything else I didn't get done because my weekend was such a fruit basket upset.

And Happy Birthday to my favorite neighbor!!!  Happy Birthday Sandeanne!!
