Looking for a new home!

Lola was unable to stay with her family so she's come to stay with us for awhile until we can transition her to a new forever home.  If you know of anyone who is looking for a very nice friendly 130 lb puppy, please let me know.
Here is a picture of Lola and her daddy Rasmus.  Rasmus is in front, Lola is in the background.  They look so much alike except Rasmus has a little more of a melon head than Lola does!  haha...  Rasmus is so sharp, he noticed me taking pictures of them from the house!  Can't fool him!  :-)
Lola is a playful little puppy even though she weighs about 130 lbs.  She is a sharp looking fawn who is put together nicely.  She is spayed.  So if you know of a good home, please feel free to have them contact me.  Thanks!  Lola would really appreciate it.  A home where she can spend lots of time with her people would be the best for her.

Anything for you Karley!

Between laundry and all the weekend dog activities, yes Karley, I started on my art assignment.  Brought back some skills I thought might have escaped me!  :-)  Remember Karley, you'll pay later when I'm 90 years old and I move into your house...  What comes around, goes around!  Ha ha!!
One Harry Potter crest down, 3 to go!  The party is June 16th so I'm hopefully I can get them all done in time!  As long as the brown frog mints are done, I think I'm doing okay.  :-)

Missing in Action!

Kasey texted me the other night and chastised me for no recent posts.  She's right.  Life has been a bit chaotic the last couple of weeks but I'm back!  And I've got new pictures to share!  Yay!!  So what have we been up to lately around here?  One big project has been Karley's graduation mints.  Karley is a huge Harry Potter fan so of course she wanted her mints to look like chocolate frogs...  So here you go Karl!  Here's how life looks from the vantage point of a  mint chocolate frog!!
I'm not sure if that looks like a frog or not..

Mother and me and 100 brown frog mints...
My next assignment is to draw each of the Harry Potter crests... Griffendor, Raven Claw, Slitherin, and whatever that other house is...  Don't worry Karley!!  Anything for you my darling!  :-)

So that was pretty much last weekend.  Okay, this weekend was quiet and rainy.  Since the house was bare bones for groceries we had to run to town.  Yes, the chaos was affecting other items besides the blog Kasey!  After groceries, I did some training with Ava.  The dog shows will be starting soon so we need to start picking up on the practicing.  Oscar will be leaving for Ohio in a week or so so that means Ava is going to start getting the brunt of the attention now...  She did pretty well but I still really work up a sweat when we are practicing...  She is definitely not as easy as Oscar...
100 lbs of adorable!!  Seems like yesterday she was just teeny tiny!

Ava, why are you always making me sweat!

Ava loves her Mom!

Smiley!
It's been a rainy yucky weekend.  Mom continues to remind me every weekend how neglected the dogs are as we have not been able to get out the swimming pool for awhile now.  There's good reason I'm not posting pictures of Oscar today...  Oscar went outside this morning and decided instead of the pool, a mud puddle would suffice!  Dirty Dog!!
So here you go Kasey.  Pictures for you my darling!  Miss ya poopyhead!!  Hope to see you soon.

Easter weekend!

Well, I knew it was going to be an exciting weekend with Kasey coming home!  It was just one thrill to the next this weekend.  Ha ha!  We started the party fest with a celebration dinner.  We needed to celebrate Kasey's new job so we headed to the big city of Spencer to Monterray's...  our favorite Mexican Restaurant!  Kasey applied for and was awarded a position as a Veterinary Assistant at a vet clinic in Fargo, ND.  She'll be working their over the summer.  I'm so proud of her!
Cool whip and a cherry!

Pain!  Cold head ache!!
The non-alcoholic daiquiri's were delicious and gone shortly.  :-)
All gone!
Then the fun continued the next day.  We decided to go to a movie and accidentally ended up at "Wrath of the Titan's" in 3-D.  It was AWESOME!!  I haven't been to a 3-D movie since I was a kid...  And I think that was actually some odd TV show that I watched through green and red lenses in my paper glasses.  We had so much fun!!  The 3-D was cool!
Sweet glasses!!
Then we ran into Johnny Depp in the movie lobby!!  What??  Johnny Depp in Spencer Iowa!!  Well, okay so it was a Johnny Depp cut out...  But it looked real okay!!  :-)
Kasey and her close friend Johnny Depp
Then the fun continued!  Molly and Ava weren't sure about all the excitement...  They felt maybe they would conserve some of their energy for later.  :-)
Kisser!

Anyone got time for a belly rub??
After a little bit of prodding I decided that yes, I did need to color Easter Eggs.  Kasey was thrilled!  I haven't colored eggs for years and years!  It was a lot of fun!  And even more fun when Kasey's friend Trent dropped by to supervise.  Trent was in the area for football practice so he stopped by to say hi and see if there was some arm wrestling going on.  Instead, he got to sit through a thrilling afternoon of dipping eggs in food dye!  :-)

Poor Trent suffered through our not too exciting Easter Egg activities and an old lady (me) taking his picture.  He was a good sport and we had a fun afternoon.  :-)  I offered to arm wrestle him but Trent thought he would be wise not to get injured.  Haha!  That was funny!

Here are the final results!  Don't they just make you smile??  :-)  Somehow they look better in a picture than they actually do in reality.  But it was fun..  I can't remember why it's been so long since I've dyed Easter eggs...  I'll have to make sure I make this an annual event again.
So much excitement and it isn't even Easter yet!!  One more day left this weekend!  It's been great so far!  I don't know if this old lady can take one more day full of excitement!  :-)

Poolside at the Johnson Ranch!

Mother!!  Come out and play!!

With it being 90 degrees today, the time has come!!  The pool must come out!!  I grabbed the pool and brought it out into the drive.  It didn't take Oscar long.  He LOVES the pool so as soon as it was out there, he was jumping in even though there wasn't any water in it yet.  The rest of his day, Oscar spent in and out of the water...
ahh...  this is the life!

Are you jealous of my pool?
With the pool and the hose out, it made it easy for me to scrub everyone so everyone with four legs got a scrubbin this afternoon!  No one put up a quarrel.  Everybody pretty much enjoys their bath except for Dora.  But she got one anyway.  Then the children just basically enjoyed the outdoors while I got to spend time in my favorite place...  My flower bed.  I also put some work into my brick sidewalk.  It's looking pretty good for April 1st!  :-)  I got out all the stuff and put it all in place and we did a little cleaning and raking..
So here are some pictures of everyone else messing around while I was watering and working on my perennials..

Oscar loves a big red ball!
Molly chillin like normal!
Ava
Rasmus cooling off in the garage
 Rasmus enjoying the shade
Ava drinking out of the garden gnome!  :-)
Oscar thinking about getting in the pool... again!!
Between scrubbing dogs and playing and working in my flower garden, I also was kind enough to help Mike wash both the vehicles in exchange for him taking pictures of me while I did a little training with the kids...
Here we are getting in a lot of practice...  Of course Oscar is still soaking wet from his pool antics!  Don't let the glare off the white legs blind you!  :-)
Standing like a champ!

And then Ava got in a little practice.  She did fantastic!!!  What a pretty girl!  She'll start her show career late May or early June.  We've been trying to take it easy on Ava.  She's been having some growing pains lately so we've been trying to restrict her activity lately.  I even pulled one of Ava's baby teeth today.  She's trying to lose all her milk teeth and get her big girl teeth..  I just helped her out a little bit today.

Probably the only two dogs that didn't have much excitement today were old Dyna and Harley.  They are just waiting for their spring shaving.  I swear, Harley is 3/4 hair!!  They will get the buzz soon!  Then they get all excited and frisky and bounce around like pups again!!
Harley
Dyna
And then after all the fun, we all pooped out because we were all tired!  All the fresh air and warm temps!!  That brings this weekend to a close.  Have a great week and I'll see ya when I see ya!!

Time for the big girl bed!

It's pretty apparent that Ava has outgrown Apples little bed.  It's just about big enough for a pillow but she still tries to crawl in!  Only one end fits at a time!

So I brought the big girl bed out for Ava.  She thought it was pretty sweet!  She fit her whole cute little self into it!!  :-)
Roomy!
It was so nice, others decided they needed to try it out as well!  :-)
Spacious!!
It won't be long and Ava will have outgrown this bed too...  Everybody better enjoy it while it lasts!  :-)  The kitchen just seems smaller and smaller!  Ha Ha!!

Lawn Widow

With the mild spring, the call of the wild....  I mean call of the lawn has been too strong.  I've officially become a lawn widow for the summer!  The FedEx man stopped by with a delivery.  I don't remember a FedEx Semi ever dropping anything off before but here you go!
Oscar thought the FedEx Man looked mighty tasty!  It was all he could do to keep from running out there!
So the package was unpacked and yes, it appears Mike did some internet shopping..  A new mower...
Yep, I'm officially a widow for as long as the grass is green.  :-)

Oh well, that's why I have my dogs..  So, after the mowing started, the dogs and I moved onto other more pressing matters like who is going to get that bone!  :-)
I think I will take that from you!
